2013 Germany's vehicle reliability list by GTU

GTU, the German used-car watchdog, published its 2013 report on vehicle durability. The findings of the report were highlighted at the Automechanica Trade Fair earlier this year.

The German used-car watchdog, GTU (The Association for Technical Supervision), published its 2013 report on vehicle durability. GTU is one of the three leading vehicle-inspection bodies in Germany along with TUV and DEKRA.

These car models, in the age category 1-3 years old, were rated as most reliable by GTU in the following vehicle segments:
SMALL CARS
1. Toyota Yaris
2. Hyundai i20
3. Ford Fiesta

COMPACT CARS
1. Toyota Auris
2. Honda Civic
3. BMW 1-Series

UPPER-MEDIUM CARS
1. Opel Insignia
2. BMW 3-Series
3. Honda Accord

EXECUTIVE CARS
1. Jaguar XF
2. Volkswagen Phaeton
3. BMW 7-Series

SPORTING CARS/CABRIOS
1. Audi A3 Cabrio
2. Porsche 911
3. Peugeot 308 CC

SUV/OFF-ROAD
1. Skoda Yeti
2. Peugeot 3008
3. Subaru Forester

MPV
1. Peugeot 5008
2. SEAT Alhambra
3. SEAT Altea

In particular, GTU experts are full of praise for the Skoda Yeti, which emerged as the winner of the 2013 vehicle reliability survey with a score of 1.8. Crucially, the Yeti was also the overall winner of the 2012 report by GTU.
