Opel Insignia launches with attractive prices

Date of publication: 2008-07-22 10:43:35

Opel has announced attractive pricing for its new top model, the Insignia, debuting at the British International Motor Show 2008. Even though its technology and design solidly place the Insignia at the top of the mid-size class, its prices start at the bottom of the segment.

Standard equipment is extensive, with the entry-level models boasting air conditioning, CD-radio, on-board computer, electric height adjustment for the driver’s seat, as well as ESP and traction control.

The Opel Insignia showcases bold, dynamic design and new technologies that provide even more safety, dynamics and ergonomics. At the same time, the Insignia offers a host of innovative features such as the camera system Opel Eye, which reads traffic signs and warns drivers when they veer out of their lane; the new-generation AFL headlamps that adjust to prevailing traffic conditions with nine different lighting functions; particularly back-friendly ergonomic sport seats and the heated windshield washer fluid Hot Shot.

The four gasoline engines range from the 115hp four-cylinder unit to the six-cylinder with 260hp. The three new 2.0-liter direct-injection diesels carry power outputs from 110 to 160hp. All these engines are among the best or the best in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The Insignia comes with the new FlexRide chassis and is available with front-wheel-drive and the all-wheel-drive system Adaptive 4X4.

In addition to the base version, the equipment variants Edition, Sport and top-of-the-line Cosmo are available. The new Insignia can be ordered now and will be at dealerships in Germany by the end of this year.

The expected residual value of 60% after three years makes the Insignia especially interesting for leasing customers, as its value stability allows for attractive leasing rates.
