According to a story by Germany's Automobilwoche, currently there are around 80 sales points in Germany, and the next Chinese vehicles will be presented at the Paris motor show later this year. Among them, there will likely be Gonow’s SUV and pick-up trucks, plus a commercial vehicle rivalling the Fiat Ducato.
The Chinese-made CEO’s design resembles that of the BMW X5. Just to compare, the German model (before a face-lifting) has the following dimensions: length/width/height - 4,665/1,870/1,720mm, as compared with its Chinese peer's 4,710/1,870/1,820mm. The German importer’s brochure shows that in this model the 2,4-litre engine has 103kW (140hp) and 190Nm torque. It is the well-known and widely used Mitsubishi engine (code 4G64S4M), which is assembled in the Brilliance BS6, among others. The entry-level price is EUR 25,900, which is around 87,060 PLN according to the current exchange rate. In the autumn, the V6 165hp petrol engine will be added to the range.
Meanwhile, the Jonway UFO was presented last autumn at the Frankfurt show. The UFO is a copy of the Toyota RAV4, having the same dimensions as the original. There is also a possibility to change the body panels and doors for original parts. Toyota cannot stop the Chinese-made product from going on sale because the carmaker has not applied for copyright protection across Europe. Mitsubishi's engines - 1,6-litre 101hp (4G18S), 2,0-litre 129hp (4G63S4M) and 2,4-litre 136hp (code 4G64S4M) are available on the UFO as well. The basic variant starts at EUR 15,990 or some PLN 53,750.
