Mazda shines in TUV's 2008 car reliability survey

Japanese cars have again captured the top spots in a reliability survey by Germany's biggest testing organization TUV, with the Mazda3 and the Mazda2 winning first and second place.

The 2008 survey covers 194 vehicle models grouped into five different age categories, based on the number of serious safety problems identified by TUV specialists last year.

These are the winners and losers of the 2008 TUV reliability ranking:

The 2008 TUV report records the results of all general inspections that were conducted according to §29 of the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVZO) by TUV test centers last year. It is based on the results of over seven million vehicle checks during the reporting period.
