As the most important factor to be taken into consideration when possibly buying a Chinese car, active and passive safety led the way with 63%, followed by price (48%) and environmental compliance (46%). On the contrary, German motorists potentially opting for a Chinese vehicle seem least likely to be driven by factors such as design (11%), engine performance (9%) and brand image (2%).
However, it seems that most German drivers find it hard to name any of China's leading car brands, with Landwind getting mentioned by 12% of those followed (Chery and Brilliance 9%, Geely 2%).
Interestingly, 28% of those polled think that over the next five years Chine's automakers will achieve market success that is comparable to what South Korean brands have accomplished. |
