This month, Fiat Auto Poland’s plant in Tychy, located some 300km south-west of Warsaw, is going to make the last of the Fiat 600, also known as the Seicento here and beyond.

The Fiat Seicento/600 has been built here since the autumn of 1997. Until the end of April 2010, the supply had totalled a combined 1,328,839. Of these, Polish customers had bought 289,302 units.

The Fiat Seicento was Poland’s most-sold new-car model in 1999, 2000 and 2001, and in 2002 it was the No.2 ranked model, trailing the then winner by a narrow margin.

Since 2004, customer demand for the Fiat Seicento/600 has been falling noticeably. However, in 2004 it was another car model built at Tychy, the Panda, that became the country’s top-seller.

The is a list of the leading export markets for the Fiat Seicento/600 to date:
- Italy: 724,748 units
- Germany: 82,287 units
- Great Britain: 46,419 units
- Spain: 33,474 units
- Greece: 33,411 units
- Holland: 33,223 units
- France: 28,150 units
- Ireland: 10,053 units

Fiat Auto Poland officials say next year the Polish plant is set to launch production of a new model.
