The Slovak-made Kia cee’d won a 2009 quality/reliability survey in the compact-car category, published by France’s respected motoring publication L’Automobile Magazine earlier this year.

This is how the Top-5 list of the magazine’s compact-car models shapes up:
1. Kia cee’d (17.5 points out of 20)
2. Honda Civic (17.3/20)
3. Volvo C30 (17/20)
4. BMW 1-Series (16.8/20)
5. Dacia Logan (16.7/20)

L’Automobile Magazine praises the Kia cee’d as the South Korean brand’s first model designed and manufactured in Europe, offering high perceived quality and reliability, along with a unique 7-year warranty cover.

With a monthly circulation of 180,000, L’Automobile Magazine, established in 1946, is the first monthly car magazine in France. With its ISO 9001-registered test drives; sneak previews on new cars; annual and official “Guide to Quality and Reliability;” and its retro, design and sport stories, L’Automobile Magazine attracts both the most passionate car enthusiasts and car buyers alike who are looking for advice.

Crucially, the Kia cee’d also scored well in Poland’s driver satisfaction survey NAT 2008, published by the Auto Swiat motoring weekly last month. Auto Swiat is a sister publication of the German magazine Auto Bild.
