2009 is set to see the arrival of many new models in the European segment of compact cars, with the likes of the all-new Opel Astra, Mazda3 and the Alfa Romeo 149 all poised to make life hard for the Volkswagen Golf, which is currently the region’s best-selling product in the segment and overall.
