Baijah Automotive is poised to gain a foothold in the German automotive market, offering two off-roaders called the Tulos and Taigah that are aimed at Russian-made Lada Niva. The prices start at EUR 22,900 and EUR 18,500 respectively. Crucially, the company is using Germany for final assembly and the vehicles come with Toyota-supplied engines.
Starting this autumn, the Tulos and Taigah will be available with a Euro 4-complaint diesel engine which joins Toyota's 2.7-litre unit that runs on petrol or ethanol. This year, Baijah Automotive aims to sell some 100 vehicles, a figure the company expects will rise to 750 in 2008.Baijah is a German small-series manufacturer, currently offering four different vehicles with Euro 4-standard and EEC-Homologation. RHD- and FFV-vehicles (FlexFuel) are available on request.
The company says export vehicles are not matching EWG or EG homologation standards and are strictly built for needs (requirements) in other countries. Baijah can offer a variety of 15 different constructed off-road vehicles: from those carrying passengers to models for transporting goods. The company is monitoring the production of the vehicles directly in Russia and performs a complete check of the vehicles according to European standards.
